GOLFERS CLOSE SPRING, 4th IN STATE: The Hastings Raiders Boys Golf Team ended the 2012-13 School Year, and Spring Sports Season, in fashion. The Raiders finished in 4th place at the Minnesota State Meet, held at Bunker Hills Golf Course on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Raiders finished with the 4th place 623, one stroke ahead of Dakota County Rival, Lakeville North, and only 14 total strokes out of first place, as Eden Prairie stunned Wayzata, with a 609, and a one-point State Meet Team victory, stunning the Trojans, who led after Day One. As a team, Hastings scored: 73-75-78-83 for their four used scores in the first round, while they closed it out Day Two, with 75-78-80-81 for the fourth place finish overall. The Raiders were in fifth place after the first round, gaining the fourth place position late in the rainy final round.

THREE INDIVIDUALS ALL-STATE: The Hastings Raiders Boys Golf Team also had three All-State Honorees, with Jacob Cooper (40-38, 38-37- 153), Sam Otto (40-35, 39-39- 153), and Matthew Radke (38-35, 41-39- 153) all tied for 17th place overall individually, as three other Raiders played great rounds with Mark Huneke (39-44, 40-41- 164), Nick Tusa (43-40, 46-41- 170), and Dominick Bacon (43-42, 43-44- 172) also competing for the team at State. Congrats Raiders!!!
4th ANNUAL HASTINGS FOOTBALL GOLF CLASSIC: The Hastings Football Association, and Hastings Football Connections invites you to their 4th Annual Hastings Football Association Golf Classic, on Friday, August 16th, for a 1:00pm Shotgun start to the Tournament! Registration begins at 11:00am, with Lunch being served from 11:00am-1:00pm, before the tournament, and then dinner following the golf event, as well! Dinner will begin at 6:00pm. If you aren’t much for golf, and still want to be part of the event, there are dinner-only options for $20/person. Cost is $80/person with golf, or $320/foursome. WRESTLERS ARE NEW “GREEN TEAM”: The Hastings Wrestling Club will be hosting a “Green Team” fundraiser over the next month! From now, until July 1st, the wrestlers will be receiving $15 for every ton of mixed papers, recycling, at Terry’s Hardware, in Hastings. Tennis Sanitation has provided a recycling container, which is located in the parking lot at Terry’s Hardware, at 375, West 33rd. Street. Paper materials, including cardboard, magazines, newspapers, junk mail, and box-board (Cereal Boxes, Cookie Boxes, Cracker Boxes) can also be placed in the container. The Hastings City Council and Tennis Sanitation will also recognize the group as the “Youth Green Team” for the next three months! So bring your recyclable paper to 375 West 33rd Street, recycle, and help our kids!!!
