RAIDERS FALL AT EAST RIDGE: The Hastings Raiders Boys Basketball Team went up against one of the likely top teams in the Suburban East Conference on Tuesday night, and fell at East Ridge 65-46, in the first of two meetings, this season. The big Raptors, led by 6’11 Pepperdine Recruit Ryan Keenan used their size and strength to their advantage, but the Raiders’ athleticism kept them in the game until late in the second half, when the Raptors pulled away. The Raiders were led in scoring by Sam Skoyen, who finished with 17 points in the loss, with Drew Pottinger scoring 9 points in a complimentary effort, on Tuesday. Unfortunately, the Raiders didn’t have another scorer above 5 points, and the absence of both Craig Nielsen (Mono), and Zach Wiese (Shoulder) was truly felt on both sides of the court. Sid Tomes led the Raptors with 19 Points, while Xavier Cole added 13, and Keenan finished with 12.
